LEGENDARY PUNKROCK VETERANS

In the early eighties,when the second blast of fierce pumping hardcore punk shocked the world, the Dutch scene was filled by the fury and the anger that lies within the determination to change all that felt wrong...The streets were burning, the system had to fall, studs mohawks & spikes a dreadfull threath. From out of nowhere-a tiny spot in the north of Holland - ZMIV was born.
Comming from the countryside these guys had to compensate a lot to make a difference. Together with their little brother KNAX they started touring and rumours spreaded fast: there's something really crazy going on : Rotten,vital and louder than ever before! ZMIV got the attitude,the punk rock looks,the sing alongs, their raging gigs,a lot of humour and of course the crew-all packed together in the back of the rusty van ZMIV became a living legend and crushed under the weight of its own succes.Their 7 .. EP "Banzai, here's ZMIV , Beware!"became a collectors item, their recordings on the "Als je haar maar goed zit.... album" a historic example of the first crossover Some twenty five years later, the system still didn't fall, repression commonly neglected and punkrock just another youth culture or having a good time.....So whats new?

ZMIV will be re-recording all songs(!) in their own D.I.Y. style-somewhere in 2008 -,This last album will be released by SEVERE punkrock.However: This should be their final sampler in nearly 30 years ...Banzai!

Francais: le roi mort ... sont extraordinaire....Et les lentilles Rouges? Ce sont des herbes...La musique? C'est le "PANK WRAK" n'estce pas? Le convenience en france...les chansons? Laissez faire...

English:" Le Roi Mort et les Lentilles Rouges" is the latest project of some freaked out punkrockveterans facing their offspring in an uptempo battle of fast traditional chansons and powerfull polka tunes.What a tragic waste of space...

Nederlands:Wat krijg je als je twee oude Punkers, de muzikant van Boerenblond en twee jonge honden – de één klassiek geschoold, de ander afkomstig uit de hedendaagse Meppeler subcultuur- een band laat beginnen? Juist: “Le Roi Mort et les lentilles Rouges” De wat? Klinkt Frans….en wat blijkt? Op hun my space- pagina -www.myspace.com/leroimortetleslentillesrouges - beluisteren we een verassende mengeling van vrolijk stemmende franse polka liedjes en soms stevige “chansons.” Een prominent aanwezige accordeon begeleid de up tempo akoestische liedjes,die met de nodige zelfspot hartstochtelijk in het Frans worden gezongen. Muziek technisch gezien heeft het weliswaar niet al te veel om het lijf, maar daar ligt ook tevens de grootste kracht. Met een flinke knipoog en de bekende franse slag weet “le Roi Mort” zelfs de meest verstokte chauvinist te boeien. Slechts het vrolijk stemmende anarchistische karakter van dit vijftal verraad hun illustere verleden….
